If you are a product junky like myself, you will notice many beauty care products including Olive Oil as an ingredient to gain the 'natural' consumer (we are a HUGE niche market). And as you may know Olive Oil
1. Olive oil is best absorbed in the hair & skin when it's damp. (Think of when you put your lotion on when your skin is damp out the shower). So I always lightly oil my natural clients scalp with olive oil. Also helps regulate dry scalp because olive oil is a natural anti-oxidant similar to vitamin E
2. Use as a bath oil.
3. Use as a light moisturizer for the skin, fresh out the shower.
4. Use olive oil as a hot oil treatment. On damp hair apply approx 1/4 cup of olive oil to the hair. Cover with plastic cap and sit under dryer for 15 min.
5. Mix even parts of olive oil and conditioner
* If you are pressing your hair after this, follow the treatment with a moisturizing shampoo, such as Jane Carter Solution Moisture Nourishing Shampoo
6. Exfoliate! Mix 1/2 cup of olive oil & 1/4 of sea salt. Use in the shower on tough areas such as elbows, knees, feet, etc.
7. Makeup Remover! Use olive oil on a cotton swab and wipe away eye makeup.
8. Hair & Body Spritzer. Mix olive oil with distilled water and a few drops of your favorite essential oil , (I like peppermint) in a spray bottle. Spray on your curls, coils or locs to refresh them in the morning (especially when sleeping on them makes them flat). Spray on body mid-day to refresh them apply olive oil to trap the moisture.
9. Apply straight to dry cuticles.
10. Olive oil is EXCELLENT for those with sensitive skin and scalp. It does not contain and artificial fragrance, dyes or crap!
