Food, Music & Naturally Curly Talk was a success!

The Food, Music & Naturally Curly Talk event was a success! We had about 40 ladies and a few gents make it out to Terra Cafe for an evening of open discussion with the topic being...... Natural Hair. We discussed transitioning, products, styling tips and tricks, hair and relationships, as well as natural hair in the workplace. Much thanks to Jamesha Bazemore of Ebony's Braidery for supplying the giveaways. And shout out to Shenell Bolden of The Sweetest Serendipity for her hand-crafted chap sticks, soaps, and body oils.

Needless to say, we had a great time and I am looking forward to hosting the next one.

Miss Nappturality Pageant Seeks "America's Next Natural Model"

Nationwide (BlackNews.com) -- Who will be crowned Miss Nappturality 2011? A lady with locs, or a beauty with Bantus? The pageant, also known as America's Next Natural Model, is looking for a new face to grace the pages of a national magazine and to represent one of its sponsors.

Previous pageant winners have gone on to bigger and better things. After winning America's first-ever Next Natural Model, Tiana Tamara Townsel also became Miss Black Washington. And last year's Miss Nappturality, Teesha Borum, is currently working on her acting career in Atlanta.
